If it reflects the kitchen, I would not use a mirror there of any shape.

Can you post a picture showing the whole wall and at least a bit of furniture? It helps one to see the proportions and style, which makes it easier to give useful advice.

I agree with Patricia in general, but it rather depends on how gorgeous the kitchen is -- and if, for instance, it might have a window looking out on trees.

Also, it looks as though your mirror would be hanging quite high, so that when you are seated you'd probably see only the ceiling -- or might there be a chandelier worth reflecting? Sometimes we forget that what a mirror reflects depends on where you are when you are looking at it.

Then there are mirrors that are decorative in themselves -- this variation on a sunburst mirror from Wayfair may not be your style, but it illustrates the point. Doesn't much matter what they reflect, as long is it's not the dump next door.

We also say art above the fireplace. Find a piece of art you really love, and then buy it. Until then, just keep up what you have.

A mirror should double something beautiful or interesting. If you think people will find your kitchen fits the bill, go ahead.
