Roofing Conundrum

We purchased our diamond in the rough two years ago and are ready, we think, to beginning the rehab project.

First up is the roof! The home has its original 1937 asbestos cement slate roof which has begun showing its age. It has been a challenge to even find contractors willing and able to touch it. Currently the most economic choice is to encase rather than abate; so, we are looking at metal roof options (standing seam).

I would love to hear from someone else that may have done this. I'm also very interested in what color choices you would pick for the house, roof, brick, windows, etc. The only color we are married to, at this point, is a slate grey on the trim. We needed to replace the old gutters and went with grey.
