I don’t have any advice on the grout color, but what a fun tile! You definitely will not end up with a boring kitchen! Post photos when you’re finished please.

I love the counters, I would go with white. What a fun space.

Consider using Mapei Flexcolor 3D grouts; Frosted Glass or Crystal Moon. It's a translucent grout with a iridescent effect.

Better showrooms carry the lines; stop by one with your mosaics to select the right color.

I've used Mapei Flexcolor CQ for the bathroom. it's a stain proof, urethane type of grout. If your tile person has never used it, I would strongly urge them to watch a video on how to apply and clean. if not wiped up correctly, it leaves a haze that is very difficult to remove. (it does come off with Goof Off!)

**Is the back of your glass tile painted white or can you see your hand through it? if the latter, make sure the tile setter uses a bright white thinset (Laticrete Platinum 254 is perfect for glass) and smooths his trowel marks before setting the tile. if not, you will be able to see the thinset ridges once it's on the wall. **

here is the 3D color chart, and the regular Mapei color chart. With your tile, I don't think you need extra 'bling'. However, in the regular colors, Mapei's Avalanche is considered the brightest white. perhaps that, or White, Frost or even the Warm Gray (I used that one and it's a very very light gray) will work. Mapei is available at Lowes, but I don't know if they carry the 3D grout.

Harvest or green tea, from the color chart...but please do a test on a scrap board for anything you try.

Hi, and yes the title is back painted white so thank you very much for that tip! We checked Lowe's and they do not carry the 3D Mapei flexcolor grout. So we will probably have to go with one of the basic colors in their line and I was thinking the warm gray or one of the whites would be good options. The majority of the responses have recommended White so that may end up being the color we go with which wouldn't be bad because all of our trim work is also White. Thanks everybody for your input!

The funny thing is we use silver glitter grout in our bathroom floor tiles and we still had one container of it left because I bought more than what was actually needed. My husband was 100% opposed to using glitter grout in our kitchen. LOL

You can look into Vivid from Bostik - it doesn't require sealing...

Arika, I used warm gray from Mapei w/my tile. looks like this. (basically a grayish white) . they say that the eye doesn't really 'see' the gray. it's very much a neutral. light gray or a clean white will be perfect.

again, make sure your guy knows how to apply and clean this type of grout! I gave instructions to my guy who grouted, and even showed him the video. he still didn't listen. i spent 2 hours removing all of the residue from the flooring. not fun.

if you use a regular grout from another line, make sure it's unsanded. Laticrete has decent grout too. if you go into a tile store, they should have samples of all the colors.

That turned out really good! And yes I did notice that we need to use unsanded grout I would be nervous otherwise given that the glass would probably be affected more with sanded grout. The grey might look good with our gray cabinets

I think it will be a nice compliment. you can see if your tile guy has any of that gray for a sample (you only need a teaspoon mixed w/water). see how it looks next to the white. (just use a spare piece of you tile to set the grout)

I was trying to see if I could find any set w/something other than white. I can't. but, I did find this one w/the gray backing. if you can imagine it's grout instead, it will give you an idea of how a lighter gray would look

Love the tile! I have to SEE my grout color, so when I work with glass tile, I go to Michael’s and buy jars of decorative sand in different colors. Always a white, and then a tan and a gray. Sometimes I mix colors. Then I lay a few pieces of the tile in a tray or shallow box, like a shoebox lid, and pour the sand around it. If I don’t like that color, I pour the sand back in the jar and try again. (To me, glass tile always darkens when the grout goes around it because no light is entering via the edge then, so this is helpful to see HOW dark, too.) Can’t wait to see the finish

On our Builder suggestion, we went with Avalanche white grouting to make the colors pop more

By the way in that picture you can see the white frame that transitions from the kitchen / dining area into the bright orange great room, thus the orange glass in the grout which ties the rooms together well (at least I think)
