is it too late to switch the windows to black or a bronze color?

are you wanting to paint the brick or that wood, or what?

Do you have any plans for landscaping? that is more than half the issue of the curb appeal on this home. at the very least, remove who prune the heck out of the shrub near the front door.

The brick isn't bad, and the wood just needs to be sanded and a good wood oil or urethane w/UV properties, applied. the wood and the black would look dynamite together, that's why I asked if you can change your windows.

gray with black trim and the white windows. but look at how the wood is done. you need to do this w/yours. also notice the pathway to the door and fresh landscaping.

So what's inside the former garage and why don't you add two windows so it matches the left side? Is that a screen door and is it staying? Can we see a few closer entrance pics?

Excellent input Beth. Definitely bronze or black windows, not white. And if the downspouts are white, paint them to blend
in. It is possible - I did it with mine and they look so much better, and the paint finish stands up to the various seasons we have in Ontario, Canada. Improve your landscaping as suggested. Gook luck!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. The old garage is now laundry and storage. We thought of windows there but we would lose the storage component which we require. It's not a screen door and we will definitely change it out. We will do the landscaping in the spring, changing the approach to the house is a great idea. It's too late for us to change the windows so white gutters and windows it is.

I do love the wood with the dark paint suggested. We would be willing to paint the brick and add some colour. this is the only closeup I have of the front ATM I'll post another shortly.

Remember, dark colors will make the white gutters and downspouts pop even more. They're becoming the center of attention.

Thanks for the entry picture. I think you should change the light fixture and the house numbers. Also I would remove the wooden partition holding the thermometer, which should also go. I'd remove the brick half wall and both overgrown bushes touching the house. If you love them, move them on side or back of house? It appears you have at least three types of edging material. I would remove them. Can the garden hose move on side or back of house? If no, remove hose holder and hide in a pretty planter instead. How would you feel about a tan color paint on the brick and wood? It won't make the white items pop like a dark color will. It appears there are random rocks from the house to the gravel parking spots by road. Consider a multi colored paver walkway (perhaps in tans) both to the road parking and the driveway parking. Are you planning on paving the driveway or is it staying gravel? If it's staying, replace the old landscaping timbers with the same pavers as edging to keep the gravel in and also use along the edge of the planting beds for cohesion. I would move the remove the right walkway and make a nice curved one from your vehicle door area to the front door and make a planting bed in the space between the house and the curved walkway. I would remove the two plants by the road parking and also the timbers and use the same pavers as edging. Lots to consider but it has such potential!

Thanks for all of the great suggestions! A few of them we have planned but you have opened my eyes to a few others. I understand what you are all saying about the white popping out if we went dark, so we will go with a lighter colour....tan would be nice, or perhaps a khaki? Lisa, would you have a suggestion on a shade of tan I could use as a reference. Once again, thank you all.
