I have a lemon pepper (hot) that has been in the same container for over a year. It has been drying out quickly, so I know it needs a repot.

Space is at a premium and I like the pot it's in. Would it be ok to root prune and add fresh media? Or should I just pot up one size?

I have had plants that keep producing into winter, although this particular plant did not , last winter. It's got 4 peppers on it now, and I wonder if root pruning would be a big shock.
