The maintenance manual says this on page 29 below but doesn't mean this is the cause...

The left side filter utilizes a non-replaceable fuse. Never attempt to replace the fuse. If the fuse is found to be open, replace both left side filter and generator boards.

Have another device to plug into the 220V circuit or a tester to verify it?

Also see if your credit card doubled your year warranty.

Thank you both for responding. I think I must have some type of an electrical component failure. When the breaker is ON, there is a hot spot lower, left center (not near a burner). I called GE and of course, they were no help. Next up, a local repair service. Any bets on cost? I’m guessing between $500-1k, based upon postings for other GE appliances.

This series gets horrible reviews, which is why I did not get one. many of them break between 1 and 2 years. If it were me I would just replace it, there is a good chance it will break again. I have no clue on repair cost, however I would probably cap it at $500. If you do decide to replace it, consider the store warranty. Lots of people shun the warranty, but it looks pretty good when you find yourself in this situation.

I’ll go back to Bosch. I had one of their induction cooktops for over 10 years without issue.
