Spider mites and rot

I've grown plumeria indoors under lights for about three years now and they've done nicely. In that time have had one mite infestation and nothing more until just a month ago. I jumped on that with neem oil quickly and things seemed to be under control. Then in the last week I've lost 6 plants due to rot :-( The two are related right? The plants are weakened and succumb? Have the rare plumeria die from rot but nothing like this before. Thanks.
