ANTOLINI ZEROCARE

Anyone use the new stone sealant Zerocare by Antolini? It is suppose to protect marble from acid based products.

It is my understanding that the product protects the stone for longer time but if spills and acids are not cleaned up in a timely manner you will still have etching and staining.

Amy - Did you end up installing it? I have the same question and can't seem to get any feedback on how people like it once installed.

    Hi Amy and D Lo,

Azerocare is an integral part of Antolini’s state-of-the-art production process in Italy. Without sacrificing or affecting colors and characteristics of natural stone, it is the only protective treatment available, providing polished marbles, onyxes and soft quartzites full protection from etching and staining, caused by acid-based food elements such as oil, fat, and grease, and tested to be safe for up to 12 hours.

    thank you,

    Antolini

Tx. Also with the stone called invisible grey? It contains some chalk areas and the local distributor was worried that the chalk parts might not be protected?

How do you buy this product?

Edit: does it work on honed marble or just polished?

We have had a VERY Bad experience with A ZeroCare and Antolini. Once applied, the surface shows lots of tiny scratches and wears off in places. Don’t bother trying to call them AFTER you have purchased the product. They do not care and will not take any responsibility for the product. We have been ignored to the point that we are left solely with legal action. We really wanted this product to live up to the hype, and we actually believed their guarantee. Don’t be fooled, and once you apply this product, it can never be removed. Don’t do it.

I just posted another response to the other discussion I saw here but wanted to comment here, too, with my very GOOD experience with Antolini and Azerocare. Attaching two photos of my kitchen. I had a problem with my Azerocare treated Mont Blanc 6 months after install because I was using a harsh cleaner to clean my counters based on a recommendation to use Dawn mixed with water. After about 6 months, I really started to see the affects of this. Antolini was very responsive and professional and even sent me several really nice products from Italy to try to help the problem. They did help, but only for a few hours, then the stone dried out again and the etching was back. Basically, I had damaged the finish using Dawn mixed with water over time. Don't make the same mistake I did! The rest of my counters still look great over a year later, despite using my Dawn solution on them some - just not as much as I did on my prep counter. Antolini and my fabricator took care of replacing my prep counter to the left of my sink. They stood by the product and made sure I was happy. I believe if I hadn't used the Dawn mixed with water, the prep counter would look as good as the rest of my counters do. Now that it has been replaced, I plan to be careful and only use the special cleaner I have that Antolini sent to me going forward. I'm sure some other gentle marble cleaner would also be good, or simply GENTLE soap mixed with water. They said like soap you would use to clean your baby, mixed with water. In any event, Antolini took care of this and I am very satisfied. Lots of times when you're happy, you don't take time to post a review, but in this case I thought it was important because I was looking for reviews before I purchased and couldn't find many, and they also resolved this problem to my satisfaction and were completely professional and helpful throughout the process. I have seen a ton of communication from them on houzz that shows they are responsive and really care about their customers and the experience they have. If you don't want to be careful with your counters, don't go with marble, but beware of issues with quartz and quartzite, too. We couldn't find anything else out there with extensive looking that gave us the look that we wanted - bright white counters with the grey movement. So I'm willing to be careful to have that look.

This story sounds really familiar... same response to both.

It sounds familiar because I posted the same story on a different discussion, as I stated in the first sentence. I thought it was important to post in both places because it seems possible that people might stumble across one discussion and not the other. I was hoping to post a general comment on the antolini houzz page but didn't see an option to do so - it seems like there are just comments on the discussion threads. I'm new to houzz, though, so apologies if I'm not doing things correctly. I understand my experience was different than yours, and it seems like you have more experience than me with Azerocare - I'm "just" an end customer. Do you renovate kitchens and have you used this product multiple times, I guess?

Sadly, I think your experience is the same as mine with one difference - they actually did something for you. In both cases, their product failed and they blamed the customers, fabricators, etc. I hope the product works out for you after the “fix” (which is basically that you need to be just as careful with it as if it did not have a coating). At least they replaced it. Please update if the etching appears despite your best efforts. that has been my experience and the experience of a large number of others posting on Houzz. We just want consumers to be very aware that the product does not do what it claims (even for you) and that for most people, the stone companies and Antolini have done nothing but hide and blame others. Glad your experience has been slightly better, and I really hope that it works for you.

    Hello ITANI DESIGN GROUP,

We have responded to your inquiry in a private message.

Whatever you do, do not buy Azerocare treated stone. Whatever etching might result from after-market products, it will not be as bad as Azerocare, which is a terrible product that ruined some beautiful and expensive stone at my house. Read the chain above for the whole story and do not believe anything Antolini says, as they do NOT stand behind their product. They will make that very clear once you raise any problems with them. You will be blamed for the problem and told that with Azerocare treated stone, you must be even MORE careful than if the stone had no treatment.

    Dear xpopex,

Your latest response has no relevancy to the last request on here, which is specifically about our special sealer for engineered quartz slabs.

We are more than willing to listen to any constructive criticism as this helps our business grow and get better, but just repeating that our Azerocare product is a sham, while ignoring the thousands of happy Azerocare users worldwide and the millions of square footage/meters, sold and installed, isn’t benefiting anyone on this forum.

    Thank you,

    Antolini

I have yet to meet a happy customer for Azerocare. The problems caused by the product are being ignored, and the blame the customer approach is being followed. No one is taking responsibility for the defects in the product. That’s the issue. This is not about me.
