You can definitely mix and match sizes of pulls. A word of caution about the hardware you’ve pictured... I call them pocket rippers. Perhaps something with no overhang at the ends like this would give you a similar style but without the hazard to your clothing?

@atherton Yes we were thinking about the pocket ripping issue as others have told us that, but they felt like the more comfortable pulls after we tested out so many. I'm not sure if we saw the one you posted. Are there any stores that carry it so we can do try it out?

Mona, in general, I I think the larger pulls look better. I would be inclined to go even larger on the pot & pan drawers. Check out my post to see my kitchen. We used mostly 6" pulls on all doors and drawers, shorter ones on the short upper cabinets above the pantries, one 3" one on a 12" drawer, and two 12" ones on the pot & pan drawers. I second Atherton's opinion about those handles. We considered that exact type and decided against it--very glad we did.

Home Depot carries them, although they are a special order in my area. They have samples in the store.

IKEA actually has these pulls - which makes them a bit more affordable!

@stillpitpat - LOL — literally! My husband was cracking up as well. That kitty has to get in every picture I take!! (PS we have a White kitty with Grey spots - she might be a much better match :))

My cat is going nuts having the run of the house again. I bought a bunch of scat mats for the kitchen but they will not deter him!

Candace, Your cat is beautiful as is your counter top!! Thank you for sharing your picture. We actually ordered a very similar granite and it is being installed in Friday. I am going to show your picture to my husband and see if I can't change his mind on the cabinet pulls.

Keiko, I love your kitchen! How comfortable are your handles? We wanted something more rounded as we felt they were more pleasant to grip and pull.

Cut pieces of paper (paper bag, construction paper, whatever) to the sizes you are considering. Use painters tape to place them on the doors/drawers. You probably will start to see a proportion that you like and that mimics the proportions of the already-decided pulls for other cabinets. Something should start to feel “right”.

Mona, thank you! The handles are great. They are straight on the back, but they are wide enough that they are not uncomfortable to hold. The rounded Euro ones were sliiightly more comfortable because of the round shape but I am definitely not wincing in pain every time I grab a handle.

Those are really pretty with your stone and cabinet. You’ll be glad you selected closed end hardware. I ripped and caught more clothes than I care to remember in my last kitchen.

The second photo looks to have a softer hand feel. That’s a real consideration.
