get a stylish traditional faucet....go ahead with chrome....it'll look good and suit this. Work on better colors between wall and floor...…If the floor remains, paint the walls a rich creamy vanilla off white. I would not alter the cabinets. Could you use an Ikea or more pricey Boos cart in the floorspace? If the cabinets need touch up, and funds are limited, clean them, assess, and stay with white. Can't tell if this is the original coating. I might talk to a pro to handle this properly.If they have been painted a few times and it's time for the same treatment....be sure you get the right advice if DIY..I would go with semi gloss at least. It's not a big area...i'd get a quote to hire a good paint job to rejuvenate your cabinets, get a super durable surface, if a full renovation of your kitchen is not happening. You have floorspace it appears, when funds surface, for at least a moveable cart or the like, which I would want...for an older kitchen, there certainly is space!
