Help rooting dieffenbachia

Cassandra H

Hi everyone!

I imported a (rare to the US) dieffenbachia and unfortunately it got stuck in customs and arrived with some rot. The stalks have no roots and I’ve lost so many pieces of what would have been a large plant. I’ve tried only slightly damp potting medium,

a heating mat, a humidity chamber, sphag and straight water, each time the stem begins to rot away and I have to cut further and further up the stalk.

Has anyone done this successfully with just a cutting? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
