If only dipping into the low 20's for one night, I'd be inclined to just leave them outside. I would group them all closely together and wap the collective base with burlap or bubble wrap or even newspapers. Christmas lights can raise the temps a good 15-20 degrees as well.

Once it is firmly in the 40's during the day, then bring them into the garage. To maintain dormancy they need to stay no warmer than about 45F, but anywhere in the 35-40F range is ideal. It is less of a concern right now this early in the winter when temps do fluctuate a lot but the intent is to keep them at a very consistent but sufficiently cold temperature.

Thanks, it's going to drop to 20 degrees on the nose for 2 nights in a row. Still okay to leave them outside?

Well the forecast now says it's going to drop down to 17 degrees Thursday night. I guess I have no choice now but to bring them into the garage.

It's going to be a high of the 20's and 30's every day but next Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, it's going to be in the low 50's. Should I bring them back out of the garage or leave them in? After next Monday it's in the 40' every day and 30's at night.

The temps are going to be consistently low enough now going forward that I'd just leave them in.....doesn't make sense to haul them all out again for a couple of days of warmer weather, then haul them all back in.

The alternative is heeling the containers into the ground somewhere outside. They don't need to be fully buried in the ground but a least deep enough so that most of the rootball is protected. Then mulch deeply to cover the rest.

You mean that it should be in the 40's outside or in the garage? After monday it will be in the low to mid 40s outside every day and lows will be in the 30's. So I guess I will leave the plants in the garage.
