I don't really know enough about grow lights to offer suggestions. I have a Jump Start set up with 2 T5 light tubes. I think it's about 3' long. It's okay... it's kind of cheaply made. It doesn't seem like the light from the tubes is particularly strong. Since you only have one plant you're concerned about, I'm wondering if a LED grow lamp might work better for you? LEDs use less energy and they're very powerful. We have LEDs over our fish tanks to keep the plants happy and healthy.

Perhaps haweha or mariava7 will chime in, they have experience growing seedlings with florescent shop lights I believe. Seems most here use grow lights to get seedlings started faster on 18 to 24 hour light cycles getting them hardy enough for the outdoors.

I've recently experimented with lower cost LEDs to start my seedlings. My thoughts, is that a 150W to 200W "daylight" bulb works great. Jury is still out on the multi-colored purple lights.

• Daylight Bulb (worked great)
• Dual-lamp Multicolored LED (not sure if it was the daylight or this, but I'm leaning toward the daylight since this one seemed very weak)
• Zuckeo led Grow Light Triple Heads (too strong, burns if too close)
• TaoTronics LED Grow Lights Bulb (too strong, burns if too close)

My advice was only for a single adult bulb, not for seedlings which I do agree need much more light.

Hmmm... now I'm trying to decide if I should invest in an LED array for the various seedlings I started this year. I'll have to mull that over. I could pop 'em into a spare bedroom upstairs (though the neighbors may wonder about the glow, since I do live in prime marijuana growing territory!).

I use normal lamps with strong LED bulbs (no special grow lights) for my seedlings and they seem to like it. The adult bulbs I have on all the windows of my flat and they flower regularly.
