Well not exactly. Right now it is hardwood. Then on top is a metal sheet (kind of that stuff you see in trucks which starts nice and shiny - and textured) but it has lost the chorme look and looks more like weathered aluminum and bleive it or not the texture (I forgot what it is alled but you see garage tool boxes made out of it too - some kind of plating is what is there so I was cover the ugly plating which essentially is my galley kitchen floor (not really galley but U shaped. I know you can get vinyl like that plating in vinyl but it costs the same as the real thing lol only it does not oxidize or get worn down - not sure how that happened.

It sounds like you have a lot to cover over. Peel and stick might not be thick enough to cover over all of that texture. You might want to consider something thicker, like interlocking garage floor tile.

You will have to remove that metal before doing anything .You can’t stick anything to that texture . Maybe the hardwood underneath is nice , who knows but the metal has to be removed either way.

If there is metal on the floor, it could be due to a repair, for instance, after the removal of a floor furnace. Removing a repair just doubles the work. That is why I suggested something substantial that would bridge over the defects.
