What’s your bulb forcing process? I know some people buy prechilled bulbs and then pot them up and watch them grow, while others buy the regular bulbs in the fall, pot them and chill them potted, then pull them out to grow after the chilling period.

I thought it was better to chill potted or in hyacinth vases so the roots would develop, but I see other sources recommending to buy prechilled.

Unfortunately I lack an unheated garage or basement to chill potted bulbs. I tried my back porch one year but they froze solid and then rotted. I was thinking about trying a regular cooler in my basement so when the furnace goes on and it heats up they would be somewhat moderated.
