We assume you have to walk under the light - that means you have to leave at least 6.5 feet of space - maybe even more.... That does not leave a lot height for the light. Also, it depends on how big is the space - if it is larger than 6 feet by 6 feet, you need a more substantial light. .If you are OK with having very little chain between the light and the ceiling, then you can use 11 inch or 13 inch model, depending on the size of the space. But you will have only a few inches of the chain - that is the key issue - some people like that look and some do not...

The entry hall is 9 1/2' X 7 1/2' do you think the 13" is large enough. Our existing fixture has about 5" of chain and it looks fine, never really thought about the chain.

Do you think the green glass will be sufficient light for that size entryway?

In terms of size, yes, 13 inch should be a good size for the space. However, you bring up an issue of sufficient light. The green versus clear glass is not an issue. However, since the glass on these models allows you to see clearly the bulb, if you put in a bright bulb, you will not be able to look at the light too long - it will be too bright for the eyes. Most people use these lights with beautiful Edison bulbs that do not give out too much light - they almost use it as decorative lighting and for true light have additional pot lights in the ceiling. But if you are ok with the concept of bulb being kind of bright to look at for too long, then this will work fine. Also, please keep in mind if you need to use a high wattage bulb, you must use LED bulb - 100Watts or even 150 Watts equivalent is OK. Regular bulb wattage max on all our lights is 40Watts....

This glass is not see-through - so you can use a LED bulb 100-150 watts equivalent and it will not be too bright to the eyes. Its available in 3 sizes and 3 colors (clear, brown, blue). But it is a completely different design and look - so you have some choices....
