I'd suggest you check out the Elkay Quartz Luxe in Silvermist.

The Franke sink sample etched with spaghetti sauce after a few days. The elkay did not. However the elkay does not have the accessories. I did not buy either sink because my project is on holding pending countertops but I will probably go with the elkay in silvermist accessories notwithstanding.

* Joseph - why do you suggest Elkay vs the Franke? I would get a single basin without apron. I see Elkay does have a 35 inch? I will have marble style counter tops and think either white or charcoal color?

I've got nothing against Franke; they make fine things. I just sell a boatload of Quartz Luxe sinks because they retrofit quickly and profitably. I usually leave color decisions to those more qualified than I am.

The Elkay Quartz Luxe is a 36" apron front only. I don't know what the classic is.

@ Joseph- i am looking at the Wlkay luxe as well. do you have any pictures of an undermount in charcoal? any issues with cracking? pros/cons?

This may be Charcoal. It's not dark enough to be Caviar (black). I've been installing this sink for several years and haven't gotten any callbacks.

thanks! does everyone usually go with matching strainer? so torn between this and a stainless Miseno sink. I hate seeing scratches so if all stainless scratches regardless then I would go with Luxe.

I read some reviews that were positive for the Elkay composite sink, except that several said the Elkay sinks with “Perfect Drain” would only fit an Insinkerator disposal, so if you had a different brand disposal, it wouldn’t work. People were annoyed with that, since many like the Waste King disposals. Even Elkay says you can only use an Insinkerator disposal with it. I think the reviews were on Amazon so look there.

I also really like the BlancoDiamond Silgranit Super Single with corner drain, but only in the dark colors like anthracite and cafe brown. Blanco is now making Silgranit sinks with apron fronts (the “Ikon” sink); I would check those out. Blanco has been doing granite composite sinks longer than anyone.

Also, to your point about stainless, all stainless steel sinks do scratch. However, after a while the scratches blend together and you don’t notice them. But if you cannot tolerate scratches, then you’re not going to find a stainless steel sink you will be happy with.
