This is the front entry way of our home and I am trying to convert it into a posh home office with storage, seating and a desk. I also need it to have an entry way feel since it is the front entrance without blocking the access path. I am really not a fan of the darker trim but it’s not really a wood material that can be easily painted. The look seems to be common here in Pacific North West region. Its also a temporary home for a few years that will become a rental so I don’t want to do major changes. New carpets for sure. I’m looking for some cost effective design help that can make this room flow into the dining area without blocking it. Thank you.
