Have you thought through the cooktop in the island placement?

If this were my kitchen, I would do everything possible to avoid a cooktop in my island because of venting and splattering issues for those gathering at the island. None of the island venting options appeal to me: one for lack of effective venting and the other due to visual constraints.

So my layout would be fridge, sink, counter prep space and cooking area on the perimeter.

Yes, no cook top on island. Personally I don't like anything on an island. I would shorten the island and put the fridge were the desk area is with cabinets. Put a pantry unit where the fridge is . Put a slide in range where it looks like you have the built in ovens. Put in cabinets where the pantry is so you have work space on each side of the stove. Then you would have a nice work triangle and you will not have to slop food over the floor going from the sink to stove and then you can properly vent the stove. Not all kitchens can surport built in ovens. Do you really need an island? The kitchen table is right there. I would make the kitchen a U shaped.
