My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Gomesa (not "Oncidium") Jiaho Queen

In the FWIW Department, this orchid is actually a Gomesa, not an Oncidium, as advertised by Norman's. A fourth generation cross, all of its parents were Gomesa. All Gomesas are Brazilian, growing in coastal mountainous humid forests from elevations of 1500-4000 ft. The AOS designates it as "cool-intermediate", preferring higher humidity and good air movement. This cross (mericloned) was only registered this year. It will be nice when I see mine growing. At the moment it's putting out huge root!

    It will take years for the "new" names to filter through. I type the judging results for an orchid Society and am happy if Members use an older version of the Genera name. Example, the beautiful Onc. Moon Shadow 'Tiger Tail' or is that 'Tigers Tail'.

    Some members have great spoken English, but struggle with written English. Throw in the technical nature of orchid names and it is all a mystery.

    To make it worse for some who belong the several societies, the benching classes differ from society to society, so "where does my orchid go" is an ongoing puzzle.
