powder room across from bath? overkill?

Is it crazy to consider putting a powder room across from a bathroom? I have an extra closet in a hallway across the hall - I could keep the full bath strictly for the guest bedroom and have visitors use the powder room. There isn't really another place for a powder room on this floor plan - unless I put it under the stairs where I now am planning on a closet... help & thanks!

3 full baths is plenty - who wants to spend that much time cleaning toilets!
If you have room under the stairs for a closet, does that mean there is no basement? If none, then you must need that closet storage space, even if only for christmas decorations!

You will need to find a few more inches of space for your powder room as you need a minimum of 30" for the toilet.

Where are you located? I noticed that you have the tub plumbing on an exterior wall.

How often is the guest bed room going to be used? If not very frequently, why have another bathroom to clean?!?!?

If you do put the powder room there, move the door for the guest bedroom so guest has only access

Linda - I think I can get the space from the hallway. Northern CA can get cold, and that is the north wall... Anne - the guest bedroom w/not be used much - good point on cleaning. Good option Patti.

No takers on the powder below the stairs? My neighbor had one in her condo, painted it eggplant - it was tiny and very nice. Then again, do I really need another toilet in a 3 bedroom 2100 sq. ft.house? (2 full baths upstairs)

Thanks for your comments -

I just hate cleaning bathrooms and think having more toilets than bedrooms is a waste of money!

as I'm reading these comments, I think, "what WAS I thinking?" I don't want another bath - a friend said, hmm, it might be nice to have a powder room...and off I go! I need to constantly remind myself what's important in building this house - and cleaning bathrooms is not one of them. Stay focused...
Thanks everyone - much appreciated!
