I would position with the roots down. You might have to put a rock or something on it to hold in place until it takes off. Looks like some will still be airborne. Fun plant, different.

Thanks for the ID Barb, they're really attractive fellas, such cool forms, so different than the usual. I almost want to call it Sans. Octopus for its arms in all directions at once.

Thx Socks but I think not, think I'll seat it on the cut stems, not the roots. Have you ever seen these in person? The roots are thick & gnarly, but dry, like they've never been in dirt.

Opinion pls Barb, how to seat these, on the cut stem end, or one of the walking roots?

I have Sansevieria ballyi and I put them roots down in the potting mix when I remove an offset.

The walking roots, Karen - that's why they're growing there (they want to root into soil).

Funny, I sent you a comment yesterday and it’s gone. Trying again. I agree, get those roots down in the soil, doesn’t matter about the cut end. Here is one I started last summer. It is that long runner from the big plant in my first pic.
