except in extreme stress... flower size should be genetic .. and therefore not variable ...

flower production is usually highly dependent on light ... lack of sufficient light ... MIGHT lead to a plant aborting flowering ... i hope you just moved it for pix purposes ...

if not .. i would not slam it into higher light.. without some hardening off process ...

This is an annual where I live in zone5. so I will treat it accordingly....but when looking online at photos I thought my flower buds looked extremely small...but then pictures can be deceiving.......

Pam, it may be treated as an annual where you are but it is botanically speaking a perennial shrub and by overwintering it indoors you are already treating it as such. It could live for years if you put it out in summer and keep it somewhere cool and bright in winter. The flower buds look absolutely normal. They start small but will get bigger. Same as the small leaf in the picture.
