It all depends on your level of 'comfort' with products than can (and will be) damaged by "wet" use (dripping people coming in for a snack/shower/phone calls/etc). If either you or DW are worried about "wood" getting upset with this level of water, then stay away from wood.

That puts you back into the water proof options: concrete, porcelain tile, vinyl, linoleum, etc. Again, this is based on YOUR anxieties...not the material's abilities.

Humans get anxious over many things. Water on a floor (dripping wet humans in from the pool) can be one of them. You will need to sit down and assess your own level of anxiety (and your partner's). You then look at the material that is MOST LIKELY to suit your situation.

Even as a hardwood fan, I would not subject a wood floor to such an environment. I'm comfortable with floating cork floors taking such abuse. Many brands can be "site finished" after installation = water resistant for hours and hours and hours. But I'm also comfortable with cork in general. I have NO PROBLEM with it fading, scratching, dimpling, gouging, etc. I know how to deal with it because I lived/sold it for many years. That's my comfort level.

You will need to find your own comfort level.

Homeowner: Know Thyself.

Also consider: stained concrete; honed and polished concrete; and natural stone, such as slate, quartzite or granite. There's no reason not to vary the floors from room to room.
