CRAZY LOVE - This one got transplanted from a pot to the ground, and handled it better than some others.

DREAM COME TRUE - Serms to be fairly vigorous, love the blooms.

Violet’s Pride - Once it got going, it bloomed a lot.

DICK CLARK - This one grew a lot in 2018, really surprised me.

FOLKLORE - Newly planted this year, bloomed a lot and grew a lot too!

BEROLINA - Another transplant that performed well.

NEPTUNE - Did pretty good, newly planted, hope it survives the winter! Love the blooms and fragrance. A real beauty!

GOLD MEDAL - Also a newly planted one, love the blooms.

DARK DESIRE- I’m expecting this one to keep doing good, like it a lot.

BEVERLY - This one is amazing, blooms almost continually!

I love seeing them all, but your picture of Moonstone makes it obvious why it's such a classic. Ethereal! As I grow and love Zaide, I'd love to see any more pics or hear any more comments about it. Mine are still in large pots and growing like climbers. I love this rose and don't know why it isn't more widely grown.

This thread finally showed up, amazing, and kind of embarrassing! Vaporvac, I know, Moonstone is gorgeous, was wondering if you have that one? I love the blooms.

Zaide is a very good rose so far. Mine didn’t grow much in 2017, but really took off in 2018, lovely blooms. One thing that really pleases me about most of the newer Kordes roses, is the foliage stays so healthy, no worries about Blackspot, at least that’s been my experience.

Are your Pope John Paul II roses own root or grafted? If grafted, do you know the rootstock?

How old is your Beverly? Does it get winter protection? How does it come out of winter for you?

Thank you, Moses. PJPII in the picture is from the one on Dr, Huey. It’s been through six seasons and is still relatively small, but it did improve this year. My other one is on Fortuniana, it did great in its first season, my second season to try that rootstock, with mixed results on their survival rate. The ones I planted last year seemed to make it through the winter okay, but then after it started warming up in the early spring we had a cold snap and that did a number on all but two. If I had known that, I wouldn’t have ordered any more for 2018. I just had to try it. I think I’m better off with Dr. Huey and multiflora, kind of got Fortuniana out of my system, I think! Right now I have eight total on Fortuniana, I’ll see what happens. I’m going to try PJPII on Multiflora, I ordered one from Palatine.

I think my Beverly was planted in 2014, it’s on Multiflora. It doesn’t have any winter protection. It seems to handle the winters here just fine. So far it’s been a very good rose for me, no issues at all with it. I ordered another one for the upcoming season because it has been such a good rose.

Thanks again everyone! I’m very fond of Crazy Love, it was a rose that was shipped to me by mistake in 2017, and when it started blooming I wasn’t disappointed at all, very impressive rose.

Diane, I'm very fond of Zaide too, another new one in 2017. While it’s had quite a few blooms, I think it’s still becoming established and hopefully will really start doing its thing in its third season. Seems like a great rose, very healthy. When I photograph Zaide the blooms look more pink, but it really has more orange tones, beautiful either way!

Sara Ann, just one question about Crazy Love. Your photo is so much more lovely than those on HMF. Do you ever get the brighter colors with this rose? I noticed on the HMF photos there was a huge difference in colors produced. Diane

Same observations here. I had decided against it because of the harsh colors, but Sara Ann, yours is the kind of coloring I love. Do you think it's your soil, or the amendments you use? Maybe the root stock? I only want it if it looks like yours!

Thanks again! Lily, the purples are some of my favorites too. You were my inspiration for Violet’s Pride, I never thought mine looked as good as yours, but I like it and think it is a good rose. Maybe next year it will be prettier.

I like the paler blooms on Crazy Love better too. This one began in a pot, and at the time I thought it was Mellow Yellow because that’s what I had ordered and that was what the label said. Of course when it began blooming it was obvious it wasn’t. I posted a picture on here for ID, and someone was pretty certain it was CRAZY LOVE, and after I looked on Palatine’s website I decided it must be, because it came closer than any of their other roses, that’s where I ordered it from. It was very vigorous last year, I decided it belonged in the ground. This picture is from 2017. On Palatine’s website it’s listed as a shrub.

Moonstone and Beverly are new this year for me, too, very welcome additions to my garden. That Crazy Love looks uniquely beautiful too. Mellow Yellow is new for me in 2018 too, it did great, so either way I think you would have had a winning rose.

Thank you both. Ben, I had Mellow Yellow for a couple of seasons, I loved it, it was a little too tender here on Dr. Huey, I thought I would try it on Multiflora. I very much admire your roses, you do a great job, your roses seem very prolific.
