See how the pads are getting skinny? It may be getting enough light now, but at some point it was not.

What is the white powder on top of the potting mix and some of your plansts?

You did not ask, but I will take the liberty of saying that some of your plants could use better growing conditions as far as potting mix and pot size are concerned. Let us know if you would like help With that.

I do see that! A friend was watching them for a while, and I'm not sure what conditions she had them in, honestly. The white powder is some rooting powder. And please let me know how to improve the conditions! I'm all for learning. As I said, I'm very new to this.

E. I’m thinking is a Rebutia. Maybe Rebutia fabrisii, but it’s hard to tell because it’s been in too low of light so it’s etiolated.

Welcome to the hobby of growing succulents Maria. It is a very addictive hobby;).

Already has been said, but your plants definitely need more light. Since they’ve been in low light you should slowly acclimate them to stronger light. The plants can burn if done to quickly. I’m assuming it’s winter where you are at so the sun isn't as strong. Keep that in mind.

I have some questions for you so me or someone else can help when giving advice. Are you planning on keeping your plants inside? What is your hardiness zone or climate like?

Thanks, Kara! I appreciate your welcoming me. I've already moved the plants to a south-facing window (but it's been cloudy and slightly sunnier each day, so they're acclimating). My plants are indoor plants because I'm in the Chicago area, and outdoor Chicago is very temperamental.
