I hope the loveseat at the end of the bed is gone. IMO, your biggest problem here is the TV stand and nightstands. I'd look for something modern with closed storage for a cleaner look.

I'm not a fan of a wall-o-drapes, especially if you want a modern look, but I think a wider Roman shade might work better for the window behind your bed.

Pull the rug 2/3 of the way under the bed (and straighten it). It should be wide enough to step on when you get out of bed, so you may have to turn it 90°.

thank you! The loveseat is gone-it was only there temporarily. The credenza below the tv and the carpet are not staying. The only thing we are keeping is the light. a roman shade is an idea. Do you suggest wall to wall -covering the entire wall or only over the window?

Some nightstands that might work well in this room:

When I was working on your room, I tried a roman shade and didn't like it. A wide one doesn't look good when it's raised, so I simply duplicated the panels from your other window. I did desaturate the color, though.

If you're replacing the rug, I'd get something really cushy, maybe a shag, or something nubbly like this:

I was thinking a large sheepskin (10x15) but concerned about vacuuming. Thank you for laying out the window treatment. it looks better than I thought it would. I am thinking a low headboard for the bed (nothing right now). What do you think?

Definitely like matching drapes for each set of windows, a low headboard and swankier side tables. maybe a bench at the end in a fabulous fabric.
