That’s a resolution I could keep!

Sunnywood- I saved some seeds and plan to try that this winter.

A wonderful plan! Seeds are ready but I will wait till mid of February for more light.

This year I also have a winter garden and fun with my second plant addiction :-)

Karins second addiction looks very nice.

This winter I started coleus from seeds. Maybe too much and many varietes, LOL. I'm dreaming to plat them next hostas in summer. We will see how it goes.

Still tiny ones, but I love their color.

And I promise to buy many new hostas next summer :)

Seeds sown on the 31st December. Now I have to exercise patience and wait.

First order of new plants placed with delivery scheduled for May 17th.

Dave..I've always heard gardeners are patient..yet gardening makes me impatient waiting for the next thing that needs to be done..or the new season..or for a plant to grow..or bloom..I wish I was always patient..but I'm NOT..Lol..

Saija, I love your coleus babies! I tried to overwinter my big plants but they lost so many leaves that I threw them out finally. I will buy new ones in spring. And I love your promise to buy many new hostas for your new beds :-)

Nicholsworth: I have already prepared more room for coleus. Soon biggest ones get bigger pots. I'm very excited how they will look in summer. Oldest child is studying in university in different town so I have room for coleus, LOL

Karin: Last summer I had my first coleus. I took cuttings of it and it has grown ok. It has plant light. Few leaves has fallen of.

Ok, so i get succulents and can't bring myself to let them die in my harsh winter area. So I started off new babies. My winter addiction. Have some success with the leave propagation and I have lost some. But it is all fun until I had one pot; everything in it died. My green thumb tells me to water but I am confused to their needs.Total opposite to my hosta addiction. Gotta love that one!

karin if you have any advice I'll gratefully welcome it.

I also plan to take more pictures. I tend to start off the season with full intent of taking every stage of the growth but then seem to have weeding or pruning or watering...... you know the drill.

All in all stick to the plan!!!

Shadow, I'm just learning how to overwinter succulents. I read a lot but there are so many opinions that I try to find my own way. When I started I thought of planting many succs in one pot because they really look beautiful together. But a few weeks later I noticed that different plants have different needs. So I put them all in single clay pots (which I got free from a local gardner). Haworthia for example do not need as much light as Echeveria. I have them all in my plant room with temps around 16°C and I do water moderately every two weeks. I have a soil mix with lava,gravel,perlite and 30% humus. I give them 4 hours with extra light and hope they will survive. But I have already decided to concentrate on collecting agave,aloe and haworthia. They are easy to care for and I have I few older plants already so I know what to do with them.

Nicholworth. Coleus seems to need much light in winter, that's why mine has plant light. I've been told that they can make new leaves in spring although they lose their leaves in winter. So you have hope with your :)

Got my first seed catalog of the new year in the mail on Jan 2. Let the dreaming begin!!

i plan or at least hope to try to control the critters better this new year. Slugs were a little less this past year but always a struggle. Deer damage was so-so but rabbits were terrible! I had at least 8-10 hostas eaten right down to the ground. They seem to eat the entire petiole and only a small part of the leaves. More and consistent repellent and .22 patrol.
