I think that bringing in touches of black would help -- cabinet pulls for starters. I would change the light fixture to something black as well and a little less modern. However, would you consider a cute fixture instead of the Boob light and use recessed LEDs for the main cooking/prep area for better functionality? I think with careful searching you can find a colorful utensil crock or even a vintage Le Creuset dutch oven to display. If you could fit in a narrow bench by the window you could add colorful pillows (but then you new curtains might need to be shortened or turned into a roman shade?). Good luck.

Yes! All terrific ideas! I love the mirror backsplash but think I would like it better above the cabinets to create some unique light ambiance. The Parisian chairs were super clever!

Do you think the barbell light would look fine if mounted 6" from ceiling?

Mirror above the cabinets? Hm. Nice! You could probably test out your light ambiance theory easily enough with a portable mirror of some kind.

I think the barbell light is striking because of its shape, at whatever downrod length. There are a lot of fixtures out there with globes and if the barbell doesn't look good in your space, you can probably find another configuration that would.

Those sconces though....! Honestly, I hadn't noticed them at first. Trust Groveraxle's keen eye to spot how special they are. Haven't found much online that's similar. Probably not using the right search terms. If you find the right shape, you could have the shades made, budget permitting,

I know you mention having a black table, but what about a marble (or marble-like) one? The chairs and table might be too much black together.

I love the suggestions here, and with some tweaking of your wonderful kitchen, it's going to look great. I like the fabric of your window panels, but I think they would be more in keeping with your inspiration if you made them into Roman shades (maybe with simple black trim) as Aurora suggested above. How would you feel about adding a bit of the orange by painting just the inset portion of the window wall? I am not usually a huge fan of accent walls, but it might work here. It is hard to tell without actually being in the space. Is the boob light supposed to be above a seating area? If so, I would replace it. If not, maybe remove it. Love Tartan's suggestion of the French bakery art.

To add to the suggestions of black and brass above, a custom orange window shade should be easy enough to source, and would give you that needed dose of color. I’m spotting an inexpensive wood stool that would be easy to spray paint orange. Or, new saddle or milk stools could be also.

Lighting Q: I love the color of the shade on this single arm sconce. However, I'm not sure if its worth losing the beautiful light display from two shades. I can't find a similar sconce to the restaurant's, and the other ones are a 70-80% solution... not sure here.
