Happy with this cross by bromeliaddict of Orthophytum 'Iron Ore' x 'Mother Lode' .

It went from this in 2016...

...to this last year.

Nice thing about orthos is the teeth don't bite.

My Orthophytum make much longer stems and seem to like to leap-frog.

Aren't the longer stems inflorescence formation? This guy seems to prefer to pup rather than flower. It is, after all, a mix of 3 species (gurkenii, saxicola & magalhaesii) which could be a factor.

I've only seen flowers one one of my Orthophytum, and the other one just seems to make new plants along the stems that it puts out.

Some Orthophytum definitely do bite!
