My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Stan McKenzie Morton update

Got this in fall, a straight wobbly stick with no real root system, its starting to sturdy up rootwise and I managed to coax a few low branches out of it. Another candidate for the outside here with protection, if I can grow it up....

It should have a good chance of doing ok then.

A cold hardy variety combined with protection can go a long way.

(I'm in Olympia, WA, and have a Satsuma that is managing to do ok with light protection)
