I just went online to check the times too, because the moon is really big and bright right now at 6:18pm.

Wish I could stay awake because it will be fabulous. The moon is huge!

Hmm.... I wonder if I can see it from inside my house at that time. I can right now and it’s gorgeous. Not sure I want be be dressed and going outside in 0 degree weather to see it.

I have heavy cloud cover and snow. The moon is barely visible as a dull glow. That eclipse is well past my bedtime but I have the camera and tripod ready just in case.

I have alarms set to wake my 6 and 8 year olds! 8 yr old just finished the moon unit in science. Very exciting!

Drat! Unless it clears up in the next few hours, we won't be seeing it due to heavy cloud cover and rain.

We will be at zero degrees, but if I can't see from inside, we will go out! So exciting.

We have a cold warning for tonight of -20 degrees to -30 degrees. I will have to go out if it is visible.

Sky is clear here, so am looking forward to it.

But ... it'll be short-term looks, when I'm outside, for temperatire is a few degrees below zero F (about 18 - 20 below Celcius).

    ole joyful

I think that's eastern. I'm in central and it starts at 10:40 here. I'm planning to see it even if I have to go outside since it's earlier here.

    Thanks for the reminder!

Theclose, my boys don't have school tomorrow so I told them they can stay up to watch. They have their cameras ready. Of course they are excited to be staying up..I may regret my decision. LOL.

I just took this from our patio. Doubtful that I'll be up for the eclipse.

Cloudy and rainy here. Probably won't be able to see it. :(

    Cloudy and cold here also.

Elizabeth, hope you get some pics.

Mama, I put them to bed and told them I’d wake them. They might not want to get up but I’ll certainly go out and see. It’s supposed to be about 10 degrees so we won’t be out long! And same here - only waking them since they don’t have school tomorrow.

perfect view from my living room

I didn't see your thread and started a new one. Total eclipse starts in 32 minutes!

Almost 11:15 EST here in Ontario Can.

The moon is about 1/2 way covered right now,and starting to show a bit of the red

The current temperature here is 15 below zero F.....a very raw cold up here tonight.

And now that the sky is darker, the stars are much more visible, even with the ground light we have around here!

For once, we had a cloudless night here and I could see it all. How amazing, especially when it turned red! It was about 15 degrees when I went out to look at it, but it was worth it.

I posted a picture my grandson took for me on the other eclipse thread. That was really something to see!

Beautiful! We were unable to wake the children. Ha! But I took pics for them.

I posted this on the other thread too.

I ran out to check on it every half-hour--couldn't stay out in the cold. It's an amazingly clear night here, but brrrrrrrr!

Same here mama goose - I kept opening the back door and checking beginning at 10:30pm. It's 12:36pm now and I have to go way out onto the back porch to see it. Beautiful. Too cold!

    Wish I had a better camera/phone

We watched but I swear I got brain freeze out there!

I saw it here, but it wasn't red, as it was too high in the sky here. We did have a red moon in April 15, 2014, and I got good photos of that.

It was cloudy and cold here... thanks to those who shared photos!

I set my alarm for 11:00. I peaked out the window and saw the start of the shadow on the moon. But it was so cold, I went right back to our warm bed.

I didn't watch it eclipse, but I did step outside for just a minute...so cold!!... to see the moon...it looked so odd...like a blue and orange marble. Quite stunning.

Raven, thanks for sharing your pics! I was too cold to stay out long enough to get any here.

I noticed it was very dark outside and the star surrounding the moon were bright. It was about 1/3 red when I braved frostbite to see the full eclipse.

It was still snowing where I am so no viewing here. Thanks for posting all these photos - much appreciated, especially where it was cold. I certainly missed something spectacular. It's 7 below here now and won't get much above that today with a dangerous wind chill warning in effect. The snowfall has stopped and we got about 2 feet of very light and fluffy (read slippery) snow that's now blowing and drifting to create whiteouts.

Thank you, everyone for sharing your pictures! Raven, the second one you posted is fantastic! Were you using a camera or a cell phone?

Moon was clear as a bell here when I drove home after a dinner at my sister's. My typical route home takes me along a beachside drive that offers a rare clear, wide view of the skies in my heavily wooded area and the moon was clearly visible and a dark orange color. I wasn't dressed for the outdoors (and it was cold last night) so I didn't stop but the narrow road was almost like a parking lot with wall-to-wall cars of those who wanted to view the eclipse!!

What I did see was pretty impressive.

I was thinking this morning that it was midnight here when I was out in the freezing cold watching this and that friends on the west coast (and in between) had much more civilized hours to see this. :)

Rusty my friend here took it with a nikon digital camera on a tripod. She got some very good shots.

I stayed up until after the totality so I could see the red moon. It was small to the naked eye but I'm glad I saw it. However, it was after midnight when I finally got into bed and then I couldn't fall asleep. I am paying the price today! I think a nap is in order and considering the temperature, that might be a good idea.

Here's the eclipse from April 14, 2014, taken in my back yard. The one last night was not this red, probably because the moon was directly overhead during the eclipse last night, whereas this one was closer to the horizon. I have a better camera now, but this one was taken with the camera on a tripod with a one second exposure, I think.

It was around 60°F last night during the eclipse, and so weather was not an issue, but there were some clouds that would occasionally pass over the moon. Skies were clearer in 2014.

I put this on the daily picture post and then I saw this post. Picture of Wolf Moon taken at 6AM this morning. Too much rain and clouds last night.
