I like the color palette in the fabric you posted. The bed is pretty. I agree with deco; the paint needs to draw from the textiles. I love the chenille cover, like the color, and think it complements the headboard. It will be a nice, easy base color to work with as you choose the other elements. The navy does not look dark in the photo, but bottom line is how it looks in the room with lighting and such. The pin tucked option reads teenage girl to me as my granddaughters are drawn to this style. It has also been around awhile and faddish for windows, Tuesday Morning currently has some really nice well priced selections.

Here's an option of white and blue comforter or duvet. It may not be your style.

@decoenthusiaste our paint color is Sherwin Williams Sea Salt. We just painted the room that color a year or so ago, there are not really plans to repaint the room. We like it because it is a good neutral! We needed a new bed, so that's why we are kind of redoing the bedding and furniture... the dark cherry of the furniture previously was too dark and didn't really "go" with the style of the bed as it was. I have some sheets that are close in shade to "sea salt" and I'm wondering how to pull that color together with the bedding, as they are all kind of in the same family... right?

@happy2b...gw I was actually kind of on the fence for the pintucked bedding, and I"m guessing for the reasons you stated- they are kind of a "fad" and I'm kind of looking for classic and simple.... I'm not one to follow decorating fads as far as the whole farmhouse thing either. haha. I'm going to have to stop at Tuesday Morning and see if I can find any. I peeked at Home Goods and Stein Mart the other day and didn't see any that struck me, but I'm wondering what kind of pattern (or no pattern?) and colors I should choose for the window treatments? I'm also leaning toward better curtain hardware... but not sure where to go with that, either. I am definitely considering moving the rods higher and getting longer window treatments. Thoughts?

I like the dark blue coverlet with the scalloped edges. I've always liked dark blue and white ... it's a pretty, crisp look.

@Mrs. Pete - my favorite color is cobalt blue, so of course, I love it too! I'm actually leaning toward needing blue shams, though... and while that coverlet does work temporarily, currently, we have an inexpensive white comforter under the quilt for warmth, but ideally, I'd like to reverse that and have a comforter on the outside for now to break up the quilt pattern some and provide warmth and a bed that is dressed in the hotel/luxury style... I'm looking at maybe buying a throw pillow of that painting that the artist sells, or finding one similar to it to tie the room colors together, etc.

Any ideas about the window treatments? colors? pattern? any ideas?

My daughter is doing window treatments for the whole house. She recently purchased the house. Both Tuesday Morning and Target have very nice drapes. You will find good rods in HomeGoods, Tuesday Morning and Target. If you do not want to hang window treatments higher, my daughter found these that require no screws or drilling. They work for fairly weighty, very long lined drapes.

I like a print for windows but light texture would work nicely as well I think.

Sea Salt is often shown with a variety of blue shades. In the photos, it is showing to be quite green and not the one that goes well with royal, .navy blue. But you are the best judge.

I think part of the issue is that the pictures were taken without any natural light... and I used photo editing software to lighten the pictures. Hopefully I will get home when there is daylight and I can take a better picture with natural light in the room!

Thank you for that link to those curtain rods! Looking into them now! I love the idea that they don't have to be drilled into the wall. :) Someone had mentioned in another thread about raising up the curtains higher, so that's why I was considering it... but I do love the concept of those quik hangers!!!

Our minds must be in sync today. I like the prints from Etsy. I have to spend time on the site. Funny my purpose for being online this morning was to search for coastal prints for a vacation on the Delmarva shore, Delaware in shades of blue that went with the duvet I linked to earlier. White furniture in my room too.

I like the color palette you posted. I was going to mention pale pink. My daughter painted her master with it. Goes with everything. So I agree having splashes of rose in the bedroom is pretty especially with blue and coastal colors. Like sunrise and sunset. I know again with my daughter, but she is currently decorating her new home. Can you snag the color chip of Sea salt from the Sherwin Williams website and put it in the palette?

Search under Photos for "sea salt bedroom." Here are a few I found. You'll have to determine if your lighting (day and night) makes the sea salt more green, blue or gray.

Cobalt blue is a gorgeous color but the walls +the gray headboard + the tan matchstick shades + multiple shades of blue doesnt equal a cohesive sum. Since the wall paint is fresh and pretty and since you like the grey headboard, consider sticking with fewer colors repeated in more elements and then add just one shade of blue as your proverbial pop? The photos that deco added are so pretty partly because they stick closely to plan.

I plan on redoing or getting new lamps- but in the meantime you are advising just white bedding with blue accents, then?

All white bedding would be lovely (something I've never risked because i have dogs so i envy you!). Do include some texture in your whites. You could layer in something gray.

I have a dog too- with black hair- which is why I am hesitant to do all white. . she doesn’t sleep in the bed with us but we also have a 7 year old who makes his way in there too haha —- hmm

The colors are nice. I would suggest to raise the drapes all the way to ceiling. The headboard is large, so to compliment it the streaming drapes all the way from the ceiling will improve the proportion of the room. I think a great example are the pics that decoenthusiaste posted above.

not the greatest photoshopping, but trying to determine best option for curtains in this room. :) I found & navy & white damask print or solid navy...... this is the only print I thought didn't compete with everything else in the room. but I am wondering if I should do printed curtains and do away with the printed quilt?
