In conservative amounts, there should be no problem.

Dont know about teabags, I would check if the outer paper would decompose. I put used tea leaves for my plants in the past and they did grow well.

I add mine to the compost pile first so they break down out of sight and I don’t have to look at old tea bags in the garden. But they won’t hurt anything and will add some organic matter.

I've used both tea leaves and coffee grounds. I actually find the coffee grounds seem to benefit the soil better. I am an eager mulcher, so I usually tuck these under the mulch where they'll stay moist and decompose.

It should be great in the garden. Just make sure if you aren't opening the teabag and dumping the contents that the bag is breaking down. Unlikely the quantities can do any harm at all and overtime can add organic matter to the soil.
