Steve, have you had any fruit from the Fukushu yet? Wondering how they compare to other kumquats.

No fruits yet from either my in ground Fukushu or this one yet. The Fukushu I gave to a friend has nearly ripe fruits.

My friend has just reported that their Fukushu teee has ripe fruits that taste very good out of hand.

Steve, did your friend indicate if they were sweet? I love eating calamadin which are super tart (I like grapefruit too). No one else in my family like them, but my Mom does like the skin eating Nagami which my dad grows.

They did not say but I believe they like sweet stuff.

Fukushu are edible out of hand. Very Citrusy not that sweet, peel to me is neutral. I think its probably best used as cut/squeeze in a seltzer water or in cooking or as marmalade. I can't imagine downing more than one or two.

I've had them seed free or a few seeds who knows why.
