I should have added: if you can get to Albuquerque and the Botanical Gardens, there is a nice display of flowering Bromeliads (and Xerographica, cyclamen and other winter indoor-enjoying plants).

Debby - That's a great link you've provided above because from that you can open many more of Paul Isley's many interesting and informative Tillandsia short videos.

I read the very sad news that Paul Isley's nursery was burnt to the ground destroying most of his valuable collection. This is very upsetting as this man has devoted a good part of his life growing and sharing information about Tillandsias.

I didn't know he had a nursery near San Diego or that that one had burned. I've visited the Torrance location many times, which is about 20 minutes south of me, and that is where I bought most of my tillandsia.

From the video, it looks like I need to be doing more trimming, but I will have to wait for the rain to stop, and it's supposed to rain all week, I think.

BTW, his cat is very friendly and often sits on the counter near the register.

Nev, I had learned of nursery damage on an earlier video, but didn't know it had "burned to the ground". It was a huge series of fires, though, so... I remember thinking, well, move to Albuquerque! (but I'm always thinking that). I'm hoping that with his long time in business, Paul can spread the word and his many customers may be able to replenish his stock. It will be hard to rebuild... but can be fun, too.

Lars, if I had some $$ I'd hop on a plane for a day trip to Los Angeles, specifically aimed at Rainforest Flora (which almost looks within walking distance of the airport, a long walk). I'd get UPS boxes and fill them up, sending them back to my place ahead of me. I've enjoyed seeing the cat when it shows up in any video. Maybe Barry will make a video following the cat around and talking about the tillandsias that the kitteh seems to prefer that day :)
