The first thing to look for is a modern front door. Given that the modern look is simple and streamlined, you're not going to need much more than that. Striking colour would be good, but wood can look equally modern.

To the left of the steps, place a tall vertical container with a tall, dramatic plant in it -- the one below is artificial -- use a real plant. And that's it.
