Yes, but this isn't the forum for it. S/he needs to be somewhere in the interior decoration forums. No true gardener is going to be able to bring themselves to suggest a fake plant.

If you look up top, the categories selected were "other, landscape design and home decorating." Might be best to remove the first two :)

Ballard Designs has some nice looking faux plants.

Horchow and Pottery Barn also has quality faux.

I am a gardener, and have quite a few houseplants--some over 40yrs old, but I have no problem with using best quality faux if you can't keep something living and looking good.

I would say, go in the discretion of plants that kind of look fake--or can be made to look real, from the start like cactus/succulents. fiddle-leaf fig/banana trees, and orchids.

The noted iconic interior designer David Easton swapped out a pair of living topiary trees for faux because he was tired of picking up dead leaves off the floor.

Not persuaded. The man's an interior designer, not a gardener. He has no feeling for the living thing. To me those look vile. Fake plants are dead.;-) They don't grow. It's the growing not the home decor which interests me. Dropping leaves is a sign of life. If it's fake I'd rather have a sculpture or picture. Suggesting a fake plant to me would be like offering a plastic cat to a pet lover.

David Easton was replacing the plants because they did or were dying...not just because of some random leaf drop.

Don't know if you've ever tried to grow a ficus benjamina, but if they're unhappy they will drop every leaf.

I'd take faux any day over plants you see struggling for life like some philodendron that's 50ft long strung around the room w/10 small leaves,. That's a plant ofn life-support.

Also, I'm a pet lover who had dogs in the past and now has several cats who also collects ceramic Staff Dogs and dog paintings - I know the difference between the real and the fake dogs...the fake are easier to take care of ;-)

BTW, Give me a faux Staff dog or painting and I will be quite happy,
