is there any Peony that can survive the heat?

    Peonies can survive lots of heat it is over 100 here almost every summer. The question you should have asked would it be cold enough where you are planning on having them. You need approximately 40 days with temperatures below 40. If you do not have that many chilling hours while the peonies might live it is unlikely that they will flower beyond the first year. The only reason some will flower the first year is that the flower buds were formed in the previous growing seasons.

    This article written by Don Hollingsworth gives me hope of getting blooms in warmer zones. We purchased property in zone 8a and I plant to take ALL of my peonies with me! Know that's not zone 10 but maybe Don's advice will help you out... Don Hollingsworth Article re Growing Peonies in Deep South
