What a large space you have to work with! How about something like this classic black and white laundry room?
Good luck with your project!

Oh, my... that is a lot of pink!
Mind you, my expertise is centered toward landscape and property design but, this picture grabbed me by the nose.
Ok... here are my two cents...

Is this a separate room or a walk through? I ask because it is unclear as to whether the brown door on the left is an additional closet or entry into another room or from the garage.
While I like the black and white theme, I would allow yourself additional leeway by adding splashes (no pun intended) of color that liven up a boring task. Hey, if you really want to go all out, what about a couple of shelves displaying antique irons or laundry related items?
If this is an access from the garage (plus the fact that this is a generous space) what about delineating it, visually, into a laundry/mud room? Is there a window on the wall we cannot see? If so, a bench and some plants/greenery would help.

Just throwing out my thoughts, here.

Oh, one more thing... do something abut the lighting. Get rid of that overhead florescent light and add some task related lighting. Think of it as you would your kitchen... wall mounted cabinets help two ways: additional storage without bending and stooping as well as locations for under counter lighting.

It is a large room and has a back door entrance and bathroom., so it is combined with a mudroom area. It does need more cabinets. . Thanks for your comments and good ideas.
