Are the white appliances and cabinet color staying?

Anything wrong with your existing flooring? Looks like it matches your existing furnishings. Are you changing the wall color?

Changing appliances when I do the floor. Not painting cabinets. They may be dated but I still like them. Wall color is a possible change.

The flooring has been down since we built the house. (20 years). It still looks fine. Just don’t want all the white flooring anymore. Thanks for the input.

Your cabinet colors are going to make it challenging. It's hard because your countertop seems to be leaning more grey, but the backsplash is very warm and beige. The two are fighting eachother a bit. If you had a different backsplash I'd say a light grey tile to compliment the countertop but its hard to say.

Have you considered carrying the flooring from the living room into the kitchen area? Finding a tile "with some character" might be difficult with your current countertop - I'd let the countertop be the star. It's beautiful.

However, if your heart is telling you to get porcelain tile, I agree with Sina - you have a cool/warm thing going on. You'll have to choose carefully in daylight and darker conditions to make sure the flooring compliments the rest of the room. I hate to offer suggestions as computer screens can alter undertones...

Fantasy counter top makes this a bit of a challenge to be honest flloring should have been decided before counter and I for one do not like the pinky hued cabinets with anything.IMO the floor you have is prbably the best othe than using the same hardwood there too.

You could perhaps go with a dark slate?

B J: Since you say your photos aren’t reflecting the colors of your kitchen accurately, could you search the Internet for some pics that more closely match those colors/undertones?

Maybe this is a better picture of the backsplash. I will say the lighting definitely messes with the color of it. Maybe need to change it as well.

Think twice before porcelain tiles in the kitchen. I had them in my last house and whenever anything slipped off the counters it was, Good_bye. lost sooo many dishes and cups. suggest you get water resistant laminate that looks like tile or even wood look. I have laminate now, its easier on the legs,etc. Excuse the mess getting dinner ready, and I love my white appliances.

What color are the walls? In one photo they look blue, in another green. I'd say painting them a warmer color should be the first order of business here.

The wall are called Georgian silver. More gray. However I will say I’ve never really been happy with the wall color. That can change pretty easily. The only thing I’m not willing to paint are the cabinets.

So does the backsplash and countertop both have a beige background or is one more white and the other more beige?

I would have to say that the tile is a little more beige than the counter. However the doesn’t beige doesn’t pop out until I take a picture. Here is a photo of the backsplash with a countertop similar to mine. However the gray in my counter has does have more beige/brown cast.

Just to give an example of how crazy the coloring is on my iPad. This picture is where the granite wraps up on the raised bar. Look how pink the back part looks ...so aggravating.

I see that. So I'm assuming the brownish(Salmon color) in the granite matches the tile backsplash better than what we're seeing on our end? If so, I would strongly consider changing the wall color. It is really competing with cabinetry and counter top. As far as the flooring, I would consider an LVP(luxury vinyl plank) flooring or porcelain. I like the samples that Beth H suggested.

Grand finale design. Sorry but what I’m trying to show is the coloring of the backsplash is actually whiter than the picture showers. The picture where the granite is wrapping up on the raised bar has absolutely no salmon coloring in it. It was to show everyone how off the color in my pictures are. I have posted other pictures above the shows the backsplash in its truer color.

Thanks for addt'l info BJ. My best suggestion based upon your photos is to change the wall color. It's competing and not accentuating the beautiful elements in your space. Make a sample board(or put them in a box) and take with you to flooring and paint stores. Choose flooring and color that best matches/compliments/coordinates with your other fixed elements in the room (counter, backsplash tile, and cabinets). The pros there should be able to give good advice. Keep in mind, lighting will be different in the stores from what it is in your kitchen. Also keep in mind that lighting changes throughout the day and wall color will appear to change as the lighting changes. All this being said, it's best to have someone come to your home to actually see your space and adjoining spaces to take all rooms into consideration and give their best advice. There are just so many guidelines when decorating that it's nearly impossible for us to give the best advice without having seen your home. You may want to consider hiring a decorator in your hometown. Make sure he/she comes with great recommendations and reviews. It's always helpful if you can see samples of their work before hiring them! Wish you the best!
