It looks like blue-ish/grey-ish? I don’t own this bed yet

A nice white fluffy shag mat on either side of the bed. Not every bedroom needs a large rug. I think this is fun but I am thinking I would get real tired of it very fast.

It really depends on what's the overall style and vibe of the room/where you want to take it

I love mixing patterns and shy away from very tight color scheme, makes me restless-so I'd go slowly but in the end it'll be fuschia in there, and dark orange, and who knows what else.

And no, if I truly love the pattern-I don't get tired.

What I'd make sure-that if I go with a patterned rug(which I might or might not)-I'd mind the scale of the pattern, so it won't repeat too closely scale of the pattern on the bed. Then eyes start jumping back and forth too much.

You might have a very different approach, make the bed your "IT" in the room, and go with colors that will support it in a subtle way as said and illustrated above. Add layers of similar colors in different textures-and it'll be beautiful.

That's also true that not every bedroom needs a rug..neither large nor small. At the very least, one can take as much time as they want deciding. Take function needed into account too, and how you live daily.
