you should've put philo in subject..i was puzzled about what was PPP..until I saw the pic.

philos and some others like gerneriads are very easy to root in sphag. I do that myself: get roots in 1-2 weeks depending on season.

yes, you can leave it in sphag for now or repot if yr temps are below 68F: if you put too much water into sphag it'll remain very wet. basically if you google or search in orchid forum you should get posts on how often to water pure packed long fiber new Zealand sphagnum moss.

it depends on the mass of roots in the pot and number of leaves and your day/nite temps and humidity. the warmer and drier it is the more often you can water.

as a general rule: the sphag should remain just slightly damp at all times. if it dries up completely, it'll be very hard to rewet, then you'll have to soak it ..but then it'll become too wet and if yr temps are below 68F it's not good...it can rot the roots.

so-o.. try to water a little at a time by feel. stick your fingers in it to make sure it's not wet and not dry..it might be too much to bother - then just repot it and be done. it's ok to do so, just keep it warm and tented for a couple of weeks to settle it in.

oh! if you repot don't be tempted to give it a larger pot: just same size until a few months when it grows a bit then you can pot up 1 size larger..like in june.

you can also put it in open floral sleeve(tall) - it'll raise the humidity a bit just around the surface : to help new leaves to unfurl. if they start getting stuck: it's too dry, then you better tent it until you get a few good sized leaves.

what happens, is the large leaves will sort if tent the growing tip and it'll be easier for the leaf to open. until then it might need extra help.
