I have a dining table lite with Edison bulbs. Make sure you get the newer version of the bulbs as they will be less yellow (the yellow seems to my eyes harsh) try using a dimmer. I like #4.

Thank you all. I really like #4 too but those bare bulbs are worrying me. My eyes are super sensitive to light. I can’t find one just like it with glass shades! I like those candle chandeliers you showed me but we really wanted an Edison bulb look. I think I’ve looked at over 1000 chandeliers and I’m getting exhausted with this!

I just spent months searching for a dining room chandelier as well. It’s exhausting ! I think your choices are all beautiful for your space. The one concern I have with the glass covered bulbs is the cleaning process. I have glass pendants with Edison bulbs over my island and broke the Edison bulb trying to dust around it. It’s just something to keep in mind. Good luck with your decision and keep us posted!

This is true AC LB. And in the reviews of that fixture, they said it's really hard to change the bulb because it's so tight in that glass shade. UGH Onward I go! If I get the one without the shades, is the light too harsh?

I’m not sure. You could always put it on a dimmer. Maybe the pros can give you some insight.

My daughter has the #4 and I don’t think the light is harsh. I’ll be over there later this morning so I’ll snap a pic with lights on and post it for you.

That would be wonderful - thank you! I've been sitting here staring at this. I really think I am going to go with #4. One of the reasons is that it WILL be on a dimmer so I can adjust it if it is too bright. Plus, everyone is telling me that those glass shades are hard to clean! At first I was sold on #1, but it is a little heavy and maybe too formal for the look I am going for. Now I get to pick out pendants - Oh MY!

I'm just chiming in to say I really love the arm chairs you have in the living room! I'm not a fan of edison bulbs, so I won't vote. If you do go that route, be sure to install a dimmer to control any possible glare. I like AC LBs fixture choice much better, and think a candle bulb/style fixture will be a much nicer transition between your kitchen and living room styles.

Dyan #4 is a great choice, particularly since you have a dimmer switch for that light fixture. I put in sconces with Edison bulbs last year and couldn't be happier, they too are on a dimmer and I selected the gold colored light bulbs (meaning the filament is a golden color vs bright white). Post a finished photo for us please.

It’s really difficult to photograph lights! These really do not represent the quality of light accurately and her chandelier is a smaller version of the #4. I do not find it harsh at all and my eyes are very sensitive to light I dimmed for the last pic and focused on the filament. Maybe go to a lighting showroom to see how you react to Edison bulbs.

These are the pendants she’s using. She chose to use leds rather than Edison for those because they were too dim.

Yes, I need to go look at the Edison bulbs on a similar type of fixture in a lighting store and choose the ones that are easiest on my eyes. Our kitchen is south facing with big windows and has a ton of light, so I don't want super bright lights. Plus I am putting this on a dimmer. Nice home - love the pendants! Thanks again!
