Yeah, I love my squirrels. I had a squirrel with one eye who was around here up until Irma, then he disappeared. Made me very sad. He was almost tame, and would sit and beg. I used leave a little mango on the seed and toss it out in a certain place for him. He loved his mango!

Yesterday, I made some collards and put the stems and ribs out for them. They love those too.

My squirrel population is growing again. A few years back I counted 18 in my yard at

one time and then they seemed to disappear slowly. Hawks or owls, probably.

Now they're re-populating my yard and are eating up the bird seed on all the feeders. that's OK cause I enjoy seeing the little skinny babies w/ the wispy, thin tails

start coming to the feeders. Within a short time of eating sunflower seeds the babies fatten up and the tails get bushy too.

Speaking of squirrels, has anyone else seen this Nature episode about Squirrels? It's delightful and fascinating...

Carol, unfortunately, I get a message that the video isn't available in my area. I need a WUFT passport to view it, which costs $60. Since PBS is largely financed with tax dollars, this really makes me a bit angry. I donate to them when I can, but this is unacceptable to me.

Sadly, PBS has had to rely more and more on contributions from viewers like us because their funding has been progressively diminished over the decades by legislators who disapprove of such things, so no, they are not largely funded by tax dollars. Most programs are paid for by donors and grants as well, and say so at the start of the show.

I subscribe here for only $5/month, since we cut our cable awhile back. It's the only streaming TV I subscribe to.
