you can't put the bed in the way it is

You use smaller corner for bed. Can you move bed this way? Not 45 degrees, but 30 to the left wall.I think it is bigger space for night stand on the left side. And the TV on the wall instead the art.

@celerygirl that’s how I had it at first and just continued to play around with moving it.

The previous layout was better IMO.

Ok I moved it back. What are your thoughts on wall decor? I have this starburst mirror and then that other wall art that I have on the wall, but that’s about it. Plus I have a tv. Yay or nay to a dresser

This was the original look for the room. I had 30” walkway in front of the bed, with 47” walkways on each sides of the bed, and no issues with the closet.

I’m in the nesting stage and rearranging my house and the boredom’s getting the best of me. Something just feels like it’s missing. The bedding definitely clashes with the curtains for sure. I just didn’t know where to put a tv and what other wall art I could hang up which was why I was trying to make focal points.

The bed is way better flat against the wall the way it was originally. You shouldn't need a dresser for a guest room if you have a walk in closet. Keep the room open. If you're looking for a change, paint the walls a beautiful color, or find some large, colorful artwork.

I think I’m going to go back to the original layout. The husband came home and hated that I moved the room around and put it back to its original look. You’ve all been helpful.

This room is just too small for an angled bed. It looks better flat on the wall.

I like it better straight under the mirror even if it gives you 3' walkway or so at the foot of the bed. You lose a lot of space by placing it in an angle. Is this a double bed?

Angled beds only work if you have a huge room. Even then they don't work well. To hard to place night tables in a triangle and so much wasted space behind the bed. They way you have it in the last post really is the best. I like change too but sometimes you don't have too many ways to position furniture to be comfortable. I make changes by changing bedding with the seasons. When walls and flooring are neutral, you can totally change the feel of a room by changing the duvet, comforter, pillows and art.

Is there any decorating rules for horizontal striped curtains and whether it should be mixed with other patterns?

Consider draping the entire window wall with curtains that match the wall color to visually enlarge the space. Then place the bed and nightstand on that wall, hopefully leaving space to open the closet door. Proven that more restful and secure sleep is attained when the bed is opposite the door and your feet pointing to it.

If you want to use print for your window do a small scale just like the pillows.
