Flip the layout so the sofa is under the window and the TV is on the wall. No TV stand, wall-mount the TV, and get a narrow console/media unit for under the TV.

Depending on the direction, wouldn't there be a glare on the TV? We have that same arrangement and were wondering if we wanted to move the TV. Thought we would and we could draw the drapes...but am interested if anyone else has put their TV across from a big window.

It looks like you have another living space off this one. I would try to put the huge TV there instead if possible. This could be a beautiful room.

It really looks to me that the only place you can have the tv is where the couch is. In front of a window should NEVER be an option. Blinds can be tilted to eliminate glare or get room darkening drapes. That tv is huge in the room and you want larger?Size of a tv should be more about the viewing distance than just wanting a big tv. 2-3 times the size of the tv away. Just to make it simple... 50" tv, 100"-150" viewing distance. 75" tv, 150"-225" Long console under the tv at least twice the size of the tv. I'm kind of thinking there may be a better room to watch tv.

Is there an extra bedroom you could turn into a man cave for him with the TV and a cushy man-lounger?
