French doors or no?

Need advice! We're renovating 1st floor & I want to put a wall between the entryway & sitting room. I thought of doing glass pocket french doors so it looks open & we have the option to close when people are in den watching tv on other side for noise reasons. My ques is... is it weird to put doors going into a room where there's no 4th wall? (see photo). The kitchen would be open to that room. There would be a small return but can't go too far bc of island. Or do I just forget the wall altogether? I didn't really want it so open when walking into my house :/

yes, I think french doors floating in the middle of no where will not make sense and be disconcerting.

Depending on the style of your home/furnishings, look for open shelving options, living plant wall ideas, or a pivoting wall to hang art etc. to create a one of a kind room divider.

Floating french doors would be weird. They also wouldn't really block any noise since the other wall is open.

We have kind of a similar setup...what we did was install a pony wall to separate the entry from the den and create a feeling of a foyer. It works well for us. We topped the pony wall with the same granite we used in the kitchen and it turned out great.

I would not do floating French doors. If you are already renovating, a wall makes sense (also consider a coat closet in that wall, if there is room). if you don’t do a wall, I would just put a row of tall bookshelves there

I agree that doors wouldn't work. Since you want separation with an open look, how about a half wall of some sort? Regarding tv noise, could you put a door on the entry to the den?

I recently saw an episode of Property Brothers and the used glass panes in black sort of like a larger paned window. Look into that I can’t find a picture.
