One way to check if you have enough gas pressure without using a monometer is to light one surface burner on high and observe the height of the flame. Then start turning on additional burners one at a time while still observing the flame height of the 1st burner. Do this untill all burners are lit including the oven. If you see any change in flame height of the original burner you have a gas supply issue. Not the most scientific way to do it but it does work most of the time.

Not sure about the sound. Are you new to gas burners? There is normally a woosh sound when they ignite but I don't know if that's what you are hearing. I think the broilers can time to ignite. The oven burners should not take much time at all.

I have not cooked on a gas range in years but my SIL who has a Wolf even commented on the sound. The gas kind of pops when I turn it off.

It's pretty relative. I have had an RNB for the last 6 years and it's always made a wooshing sound when a burner ignites, more so the oven. The larger burners make a little larger wooshing sound than the smaller ones which sort of 'pop' when turned off. Always considered it normal, it's not really that loud or out of scope from what I would consider 'standard operating procedure'. Only issue I've ever had with it is the igniter went out on one of my 22k burners for which I had a factory replacement.

Following...I have the same problem with the oven preheat and burners not lighting, or the gas jumping above the outlet so the ignitor will click continuously because it thinks the burner is not lit. We had someone here to look at it and he said that we should run the exhaust to remove the waste heat and that would take care of the issue. It really hasn't. So I plan my cooking so that I've reheated my oven before I use the range top.

Thank you so much for responding. I am still waiting for Bluestar to call me back. I’m honestly not holding my breath. I may call the store where I bought it although they have not been hugely responsive in the past either. Sigh.

@AliceInJersey, while it is impossible to say for certain without looking at the appliance, your problem with the flames hovering over the burners sounds like something the can be fixed easily. Honestly, the installer should have made these adjustments for you.

Worst case, it's a mismatch between propane and natural gas. That sometimes happens if the dealer sent you the wrong appliance. More likely than not though, it's an incorrectly set up Venturi shutter or possibly out-of-spec gas pressure to your house (or an undersized gas supply pipe).

Gas appliances often need small adjustments as the homeowner isn't necessarily located at the same altitude as what the manufacturer calibrates for. But Venturi shutters are easy to adjust. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
