Trying to set up a watering system with rainbarrels.

I bought 3 rain barrels two years ago and I've yet to do more than collect the water and fill watering cans to water by hand. That was really time consuming and inefficient last year and I ended up using my sprinkler on my raised vegetable beds, rather than the rain barrels.

So before the growing season begins, I am trying to figure out a way to water my raised beds using my rainbarrels. I was hoping it was going to be simple, but it seems a little more complicated than I hoped. I would rather use soaker hoses, than drip hoses, which are easy to buy and lay out and I like that they water more of the surface of the soil.

So I have the rain barrels, I can connect them together. I had them raised up on one cement block, I can connect a soaker hose to them, but the water does not go much distance thru the hose. From what I've read, it seems I might need a pump.

I saw this advertisement for a solar pump and wondered if anyone has had experience with it?
